Real Life

I always like seeing pictures of athlete bloggers outside of training/racing.

I haven't been in either of those modes much this week. To give you an idea what my week has been like, here's a shot of me at the Women's Health national sales meeting dinner Tuesday night. I clean up OK. :)

WH features director, Nicole Beland; marketing director, Eric Johnson; and me.

Unless you count traipsing all over NYC in heels while carrying an overnight bag and a computer, training was a no-go on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

I did manage to get to the pool today before work and then hit the gym after work for core, physical therapy, and upper body. Lots of training to pack in to the next few days, but bad weather is coming to these parts so we'll see how it goes.

7 of you had something to say:

You look adorable! I agree that it is nice to post non-athletic pictures too! I used to work at a horse stable full time so the only time those people would see me dressed up would be the Christmas party and they would usually be fairly shocked and the first thing that would come out of their mouth would be " Renee....you look...so..clean!!" I am sure they meant well. Anyways, Leah...you look so clean!!!

You look great! I managed to squeeze in an hour ride between rain showers today, and I'm hoping I can pull it off one more time this weekend ...

I considered doing the same--posting non training pics....maybe now I will (thanks for the nudge). My "training" was shot this past week too with a work conference--it was grueling--I remember coming back to my room at 10:30pm and crashing on the bed, thinking "I can ride my bike 70 miles but this is WAYYYY harder" (and not nearly as fun!)

PS--I'm on the end side of your biz btw....I sell your mag :)

Ummmmmm, I call doing anything in heels a workout. Nice job and you DO clean up well.

I agree with KK - I can barely walk in heels!!

"Wait a minute?" There's life other than training/racing??? LOL! All I have since losing all my weight in my closet are race shirts! Winter is coming and I'll have to soon hang the bike on the "trainer" and replace the running shoes for snow shoes! :-( I'm a fan of winter, but since I've gotten to really like running and only just started to run outside this May, I'm going to kind of miss it.
