OK. Since I haven't had weeks to mentally prep for Saturday, my unconscious went overboard last night.
I'm at the race (holding my giant black purse) at the starting line. The gun goes off, we start running through a shopping mall. Before I know it, the one hill on the course appears. Only it's not just a hill, it's a giant (I mean HUGE) sand dune that we have to run up. Naturally that slows me down. I'm slipping and sliding all over the place. My feet just can't get a good grip in the sand.
Now, I've still got my giant black purse. Naturally. Because that's what you carry during a 5K.
When we get to the top, we have to run through a bunch of, ahem, dinosaur caves. But first I have to run back down the dune to retrieve the key needed to open the cave door. Right, because that makes sense.
Personally, I'm not a dinosaur fan, at least not when you have to meet them face to face. And, people, you do not want to mess with a dinosaur's private crib. The snarling beasties were not happy. And, although they were small for dinos (about Border Collie-sized... hmmm), they beelined viciously for... you guessed it: my purse.
At that point, I figured the race was a wash. And I woke up.
WTF?

4 of you had something to say:
It's good that you're doing the race! I will look forward to a full report... run fast!
LOL - I have had crazy race dreams like that. One was an IM race and we could do the run portion on Sat and the bike portion on Sunday. TOO MUCH!
Best of luck! I can certainly understand race anxiety ...
and after all that...how did you do??
